Playtime is essential to a child's sensory input and for preparing their body to rest.

Even if your child has been working hard from learning all day at school, they're still going to need to tire out their body, especially after sitting at school most of the day.

Do you let your kids play outside most evenings? Or are they involved in sports?

Just make sure they're in bed at a decent time! 😉

Are your kids back at school yet, or are you still prepping??

Mine go back in another week or two, but I'm not too worried.

Since we've had a pretty "strict" summer schedule - like, they played all day every day, but were in bed by 7:30 most nights - I know the transition back-to-school *should be* pretty seamless.

However, there are families out there who are more lax with summer scheduled and bedtimes. If this is you, great! I bet you and your kids had an amazing, fun, memory-filled summer!

But you might be worried about the next week or two...if you are keep reading.

Start by gradually bringing their bedtime a bit earlier, since there's likely no more sleeping in for them once school starts.

Shoot for 11-12 hours of sleep at night, and you'll be off to a great start!

NBD, just a super-easy way to remember how to keep your baby as safe as possible when it's time for them to sleep!

The ABCs of Safe Sleep:
A - Your baby should always be placed alone - this means nothing else is in the crib or bassinet with them - no blankets, pillows, stuffed animals, crib bumpers, etc. Only a fitted sheet. Your baby can be swaddled or in a sleep sack.
B - Your baby should always be placed on their back - this has proved to reduce the risk of SIDS since the "Back to Sleep" campaign started in the 80s.
C - Your baby should sleep in a crib (or bassinet or play yard) - anything approved by the CSPC. This means...no Dock-a-Tots, SnuggleMes, RocknPlays, wedges, etc. Anything with an incline is a no-go.
